Sanjana Kaushik, a performer of Hindustani classical music, hails from Mysuru, Karnataka. She was born on June 19, 1995 to C. A. Ravindra and Tara Ravindra. She started singing and receiving the formal training in Hindustani classical vocal Khayal form of music at the age of 4 under the guidance of Geeta Dutt in Jalandhar, Punjab. Later, she continued to get trained with Veerabhadraiah Hiremath in Mysuru. She received arduous Talim in Kirana Gharana from Nagabhushan Hegde and Niranjan for around eight years. She is currently determined on learning the aesthetics of Agra Gharana for which she trained with Arun Kashalkar – the veteran exponent of Agra, Gwalior and Jaipur Gharanas – for a few years in Mumbai. At present, she is learning with Gayatri Athalye, the disciple of Babanrao Haldankar. Having completed the graduation in the University of Mysore with a Gold medal in Psychology, she is currently doing her post-graduation course in Music from Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune.
